  1. ¿Nos contarás luego tus impresiones sobre los nominados? ¿En estas nominaciones funcionaban ya los cambios que se hicieron tras el puppygate? ¿Se ha notado?
    Y, ya puestos a preguntar, ¿sigue funcionando lo del Hugo voter pack y valdría la pena con estas nominaciones?

  2. Vamos por partes:

    * Los Puppies (especialmente los Sad) han hecho mucha menos campaña activa este año. Que yo sepa, ni siquiera tenían una lista de "recomendaciones" cerrada como en otros años. Esto, unido a los cambios en las normas de nominación y recuento (quizá estos cambios fueron lo que desanimó a los Puppies de hacer campaña dura) han hecho que la presencia de los candidatos de los cachorritos sea testimonial.

    * Mis impresiones en la categoría de novela son muy positivas: he leído cuatro (todos menos los de Lee y Chambers, que espero que caigan pronto) y salvo el de Anders que es un poco inferior, los otros son muy buenos. De hecho, el de Palmer y el de Liu Cixin están, sin duda, entre mis diez libros favoritos de todos los tiempos. En novela corta dominio de Tor.com, como era de esperar (aunque a mí los de LaValle, Johnson y Wilson no me acabaron de convencer pese a haber tenido gran acogida de público y crítica). Espero que gane Seanan McGuire, que Every Heart a Doorway me parece muy buena. En el resto de categorías he leído mucho menos (es increíble la cantidad de relatos y relatos cortos que salen al año y ninguno de mis favoritos ha sido nominado), pero me alegra ver el gran libro de Álvaro Zinos-Amaro (¡un español nominado!) y que haya entrado un episodio de Black Mirror.

    Sobre el Hugo Voter Pack, pues supongo que lo anunciarán un poco más adelante, pero en los último años no merecía demasiado la pena. Depende de lo que contenga y lo que tú tengas (yo, por ejemplo, tengo las seis novelas así que difícilmente me compensaría). Si no tienes ninguna de las novelas y las ponen todas, entonces sería muy atractivo.

      Los Puppies sí tenían un "voto oficial" pero los cambios en las normas obviamente les han quitado fuerza. No obstante, han colado a varios de sus "preferidos" en las categorías. Ahora bien, que China Mieville y Gaiman sean unos de sus preferidos y que hayan entrado... ¿es mérito de los puppies o de China y Neil?
      Influye mucho que en Best Dramatic Presentation Formato Corto ya no puede haber más de dos episodios de la misma serie nominados, con lo que queda espacio para algo distinto a Doctor Who.

    3. OK, la lista era de los Rabid (y tenía una sola recomendación en la mayor parte de las categorías y como mucho dos recomendaciones por categoría). Pero, como decía en el comentario anterior, los Sad no tuvieron lista oficial de recomendaciones por lo que yo sé.
